Superstar singer Tina Turner is still "One of the Living", in spite of being the latest victim of Internet death rumors.
Rumors quickly spread across the web yesterday that the "Better Be Good to Me" chanteuse had died at the age of 72. The rumor spread like wildfire on the micro-blogging site Twitter, with shocked fans expressing their grief over the loss of the beloved singer. The iconic singer's life was the topic of the hit film What's Love Got to Do with It?, which snagged actress Angela Basset an Academy Award nomination for her portrayal of the indefatigable Ms. Turner.
CNN's Deborah Feyerick confirmed that Turner was still alive and well and enjoying life at her fabulous estate in Switzerland. "She wasn't dead on Sunday, she wasn't dead on Thursday, she's not dead today. Someday this will be true, but not this week."
The death rumors join a spate of a recent series that includes Justin Bieber, John Travolta, Usher, Patrick Dempsey and Chris Brown.
