Bea Arthur, Rue McClanahan and Estelle Getty have all sadly passed away, but at least we still have the amazing and hard-working Betty White to remind us of how incredible this show is. I know whenever I'm feeling a little down, I'll just pop in a season of The Golden Girls in my DVD player and immediately start laughing and feeling better about the world. I know millions upon millions of people around the world feel the same way...

Golden Tweets: Betty White Joins Twitter

The last remaining Golden Girl has joined social media web site Twitter! 

Former Golden Girls and Mary Tyler Moore Show actress Betty White opened up an official account with the micro-blogging web site on Monday. Obviously, the legendary comedienne is still as popular as ever, as she has already amassed almost 200,000 followers in a little over 24 hours!

The lively 90-year-old's account has only made a few tweets as of now, mostly to promote White's new hidden camera comedy series on NBC Off Their Rockers. She also is busy starring in the TV Land hit sitcom Hot in Cleveland as well as filming television commercials and movie roles!

A Golden Girl Turns 90: Betty White Celebrates Birthday (with Help from President Obama)

Forever young actress Betty White celebrates her 90th birthday today! The eternally popular former Golden Girls star has witnessed an incredible rise in popularity over the past few years, and she's been working harder than ever.

It's no surprise that a long list of celebrities and friends wanted to honor Betty for her landmark birthday. She was feted in Hollywood last night by stars such as Hugh Jackman, Tina Fey, William Shatner, Morgan Freeman, Chevy Chase, Carol Burnett and former co-stars Mary Tyler Moore and Ed Asner.

Even President Obama took time from his busy schedule to wish Betty a Happy Birthday: "Dear Betty, you look so fantastic and full of energy, I can't believe you're 90 years old. In fact, I don't believe it," the President reads from a birthday card to Betty. "That's why I am writing to ask if you are willing to produce a copy of your long form birth certificate," he says, poking fun at the controversy surrounding his country of birth and legitimacy to be president. He then listens to the theme song from  The Golden Girls, "Thank You for Being a Friend". 


Like President Obama, I find it hard to believe Betty is 90, and the last remaining Golden Girl. Happy Birthday, America's Favorite Senior Citizen! We love you!!!

Betty Is Still White Hot Rapping in New Music Video

A red hot Betty White was out and about in Hollywood on Wednesday evening promoting her latest project. The 89-year-old pop culture darling was talking up her newest endeavor as a Rap artist, appearing in a remix of British techno artist Luciana's song "I'm Still Hot". In the sexy video, The Golden Girls vet appears along with a host of hunky, shirtless musclemen as she raps about all the reasons she still has her swagger on. The benefit launch party was to help raise money and awareness for one of animal lover White's pet projects, the Los Angeles Zoo: "It's a switch for me, I will tell you, but it's fun and they gave me these nice young men to work with that are built like little brick houses," said White about her appearance in the music video.
