Twitter Madness: UK Couple Denied Entry into the US after Making Jokes on Twitter

Advanced warning for anyone with a Twitter account about to visit the US: Don't make any jokes about what you plan on doing during your trip to your Twitter feed...

Case in point: Two UK residents were denied entry into the United States after the Department of Homeland Security intercepted tweets from the two which they believed were a "threat" to the nation. Leigh Van Bryan, 26, was first questioned about a tweet he wrote that read, "Free this week, for quick gossip/prep before I go and destroy America." He explained to officials that "destroy" is Brit slang for partying and getting drunk, but they obviously weren't buying the reasonable explanation.

His companion,  24-year-old Emily Bunting, was also questioned about her intentions after she had tweeted, "3 weeks today, we're totally in LA pissing people off on Hollywood Blvd and diggin' Marilyn Monroe up!", which was a reference to a joke from popular Fox cartoon Family Guy. Customs agents at the Los Angeles Airport searched the duo's luggage for shovels, firmly believing the couple were on a mission to disinter the body of the Some Like It Hot actress from her crypt at the Westwood Village Memorial Park Cemetery in West LA.

The two were handcuffed and interrogated for over five hours, then placed in a cell where they were watched by armed guards for 12 more hours. Their passports were ultimately confiscated and they were sent back home to Great Britain, without a refund for all the money they had spent planning what should have been a dream holiday to the States that promptly turned into a senseless nightmare.

The Department of Homeland Security has taken a greater interest in Twitter and other social networking sites in light of the importance they have played in uprisings and revolutions that have sprung up all around the world over the past year. So, be very careful what you joke about online, as Big Brother is definitely watching you, and if he doesn't like what you have to say, you could find yourself in some real trouble...

Rudolph in a Can? Department Store Under Fire for Selling Canned Reindeer Meat

High-end English department store Harvey Nichols has come under fire from animal rights activists for selling reindeer meat pate in a can. The product, which retails for $30, is described on the label as an "Arctic Delicacy", an "Indulgent Winter Treat" and a "Farm Raised Relative of Rudolph".

Animal rights groups are calling for the product to be removed from store shelves, claiming it exploits the killing and abuse of wild animals. The product, which is also available for purchase on Amazon.com, is produced and sold by a London-based company called Edible. The meat is said to be produced from Swedish Arctic reindeer and is cured in cognac and spices. Edible claims on their website that the meat is "delicious served on hot, buttered toast and with a glass of brandy."  Constance Cooper, a spokesperson from Harvey Nichols, says "Our online stock has sold out due to the publicity and demand we've received. It's a seasonal product and stocks are limited so we will not be restocking prior to Christmas."

Activist group Vegetarians International Voice for Animals today urged Harvey Nichols to ban the product from its shelves. In a letter to the store, they wrote: "I understand that the reindeer meat you sell claims to be from farmed animals, this... raises concerns – as farming methods are likely to cause huge amounts of stress to animals used to relatively free range over wide areas."

The exclusive department store's Knightsbridge location announced it had already sold out of its stock of the canned reindeer meat and the product had also been removed from their online website as of today.

Break Out the Popcorn: Lindsay Lohan to Check into Celebrity Big Brother?

Lindsay Lohan preparing for her performance in A Midsummer Night's Dream..

Break out the meth popcorn folks, the always brain-dead outrageous Lindsay Lohan has been asked to appear on the UK freak show reality series Celebrity Big Brother!

Producers for the show have allegedly flown out to La-La Land to meet with LiLo, and rumor has it that they've offered her a pretty scrumptious deal with lots of extra zeros. As everyone knows, legitimate work is hard to come by for the cracked out former star, due to her unreliability and sketchy behavior. Surely, LiLo can manage being her normal, annoying self in front of cameras in an enclosed space with nothing being expected of her but to make a spectacle of herself, something she does, even in her sleep! (See photo above.) As fellow space cadet celeb Tara Reid was a contestant on the last edition of Celebrity Big Brother, Lohan's addition would help continue the show's drug-addled track record!

There is one possible snafu in the plan, however: Lohan is still on permanent probation and has to complete her community service sentence, where she's been doing cool things like helping out in a morgue (preparing for her own future on the slab, real-life performance). Execs for the show are hoping a judge will forgo the sentence for a while to allow LiLo to jet away from the United States and to fly off to Jolly Old England. Seeing that a judge allowed Ms. Freckles to go to Italy for a fashion shoot earlier this year, we're sure they'll bend the rules for a "star" once again. But hey, all you mother's in prison out there, don't expect any special treatment when you want to see your children at Christmas! Star perks come first! It's the LAW!!!

As I reported earlier, former Culture Club lead singer Boy George is also being considered for the series, so these two former inmates should have lots to chat about...

Do You Really Want to Pay Me? Boy George Demands £1 Million for Celebrity Big Brother

"I'll Tumble 4 Ya, for £1million!!!"
80s pop superstar Boy George is making plans to revive his sagging career by planning a television comeback on the UK version of Celebrity Big Brother.

The androgynous Karma Chameleon is asking producers of the Channel 5 UK series to up their asking price to £1million from their original offer of £750,000. The 50-year-old star, real name George O'Dowd, was at first banned from appearing on the reality series when it was a part of rival network Channel 4's lineup, due to his arrests for drugs in the United States and an arrest for false imprisonment after handcuffing a Norwegian "male escort" inside of his London mansion in 2007. He was also arrested in his New York City apartment when police found drugs inside his residence after the singer called 911 emergency services. O'Dowd avoided jail time by opting for community service and was seen in a bright orange jump suit collecting trash from the streets of New York.

It's been a long, troubled road for The Boy over the years, and his battles with substance abuse have been well-chronicled. Celebrity Brother UK has successfully re-launched the careers and images of several pop stars over the years, most notably fellow 80s throwback Pete Burns, lead singer of the band Dead or Alive. Burns made a spectacle of himself on the series with his bizarre facial features, due to an addiction to horrible plastic surgery!

In spite of his troubles, O'Dowd has managed to maintain his impressive fortune, and is estimated to be worth over £80 million, making him one of the wealthiest pop stars in Great Britain.
