Did An American Horror Story Knock Your Socks Off or Leave You Cold?

After much fanfare (aided by an inventive ad campaign featuring that creepy spectacular "spirit" dressed in full-body latex), FX's An American Horror Story debuted last night. The haunted house drama features an ensemble cast including Dylan McDermott (The Practice), Connie Britton (Friday Night Lights) and Oscar-winner Jessica Lange (she can go ahead and accept her Emmy trophy now!). Full of spooky frights, spine-shivering special effects and great acting and spot-on writing/direction, it's already receiving the lion's share of great reviews. The claims that it is like nothing you've ever seen on television before were not over-stated. Watch out for upcoming special guest appearance from Heroes star Zachary Quinto. Definitely a show to keep watching. Grade: A-

I have to admit, those ads featuring a full-body latex wearing "spirit" are totally creeping me out, but FX network's upcoming series American Horror Story has a great pedigree, starring Oscar-winner Jessica Lange and coming from the creator of Glee.
