Can You Break a Million? Man Tries to Use Million Dollar Bill at Wal-Mart

A Lexington, North Carolina, man was arrested after trying to pass off a one million dollar bill at his local Wal-Mart.

Police say 53-year-old Michael Anthony Fuller was shopping at the store and had selected a number of items for purchase, including a vacuum cleaner, a microwave oven and other merchandise, that added up to a grand total of $476. The man proceeded to take a bill out of his wallet marked One Million Dollars and attempted to use the felonious bill to pay for his purchases.

Store staff promptly called the police (but I am surprised that some clueless Sprawl-Mart employee didn't try to get change for the bill!) Fuller was later charged with attempting to obtain property by false pretense and Uttering a Forged Instrument (click link for definition), both felonies, court records show.

The largest dollar bill currently in circulation in the US is the $100 bill. In 1969, Federal officials discontinued the use of $500, $1,000, $5,000 and $10,000 bills because of lack of public use.

For the record, the largest denomination of the American dollar ever printed was the $100,000 bill. The bills featured a portrait of President Woodrow Wilson and were only used between the years 1933-1935.

Clean Up on Aisle 6: Two Women Arrested in Wal-Mart Bleach Fight

Two women have been arrested following a fight in a Baltimore, Maryland Wal-Mart involving bleach and other household chemicals that caused the store to be evacuated for over two hours. Nineteen people had to be taken to the hospital after the two women started the free-for-all in the household chemicals aisle. The women were allegedly arguing over a man (of course), when the argument became a bit more serious, mixing bleach with ammonia (a big no-no, which these two domestic divas obviously didn't realize). The combination of the two chemicals created toxic fumes, forcing the store to be evacuated and closed down as Haz Mat teams were brought in to clean up the big ol' mess. It appears more things are falling than the prices at this Wal-Mart...
