Because He's Worth It: Man Steals $40,000+ in Skin Care Items

A Coppell, Texas, man has turned himself into authorities after being on the lam for stealing over $40,000 worth of skincare products from stores during a six-month period starting this past December!

Efrain Hardman, dubbed the "Oil of Olay Bandit" by local media and police, was caught on various surveillance recordings, walking away with large quantities of high-end cosmetics and skincare products. It is believed his intentions were to re-sell the products on the open market, earning a hefty profit, seeing as he didn't pay anything at all for the items.

The smooth-faced 27-year-old criminal recently lost his job at an Irving, Texas, fast-food restaurant, and was in dire need of some quick cash, police are guessing. Hardman surrendered to the police after the local NBC affiliate news program aired a story about him, naming him as the prime suspect in the robberies once authorities identified him from surveillance footage recorded at several Tom Thumb grocery stores, which seemed to be his favorite target.

Hardman has been charged with four counts of theft in Coppell, but other cities in Texas are also interested in pressing charges against him.

Party in His Pants: Man Arrested After Meth Lab Explodes in His Pants

An Oklahoma man was arrested this week for taking the party on the road when his portable meth lab exploded...inside his pants!

After police pulled over a vehicle for speeding, they also quickly noticed a strong chemical odor associated with the production of methamphetamine.  David Williams, a passenger in the vehicle, jumped out and tried to run from the officers. The police officers quickly caught up with Williams, but the mini-meth lab that he had shoved down his pants went kaboom during the scuffle to apprehend the suspect.

Police had to cordon off part of the street where the incident took place due to the hazardous chemical agents used in creating the highly-dangerous and addictive drug. Although an area of flesh on the suspect's leg had been exposed to the chemicals in the toxic brew, he was uninjured in the mini-blast.

He was arrested on a complaint of manufacturing a controlled and dangerous substance and resisting arrest.

Things Your Mother Should Have Taught You: Don't Pee on an Electric Transformer

A UK man was sentenced to a year in prison after he and an accomplice tried to rob a power station, only to suffer severe, life-threatening injuries after urinating on an electric transformer.

36-year-old Michael Harper of Leicester, England, suffered serious burns after making the mistake of unzipping and hosing down an electrical transformer, which promptly exploded, knocking out power to thousands of local residents and causing more than $50,000 in damages. Apparently, Harper and the accomplice had broken into the substation to steal scrap metal to sell to finance their heroin habit.

Harper's kind accomplice, Richard Boyce, 50, promptly left the seriously-injured man behind to fend for himself, but was later arrested by police officers, with severe burns to his own hands. An English judge sentenced Boyce to four years in jail, but reduced Harper's sentence to one year because of his medical ordeal. "You were seriously injured and very nearly lost your life, and will be permanently disfigured," he told Harper at his sentencing.
