Nightmare Earth: Bizarre Phenomenon Creates "Spider Rain" in Brazil

Warning....this story is not for the squeamish or faint of heart!

A purely strange phenomenon that took place in Brazil this week is quickly going viral across the Internet. It appears that it decided to "rain spiders" in the town of  Santa Antonio de Plantina in Parana, Brazil! Video from the scene shows thousands of the icky arachnids, floating in the air above a group of houses and telephone poles, as if they were coming down in the most nightmarish rain storm possible! The spiders are actually floating along a large net of webs they have created.

Screen caps and photographs of the spine-tingling spectacle can barely do the scene justice. The man taking the video, 20-year-old web designer Erick Reis,  keeps repeating "It's raining spiders," in Portuguese over and over again. You can hear the shrieks and nervous laughter of other witnesses taking in the Apocalyptic event. (Was "raining spiders" one of the Ten Plagues of Egypt?)

Brazilian news site G1 is reporting that the spider is of the species  Anelosimus eximius, a "social" spider native to parts of Central and South America. A local biologist characterized the behavior as "normal". Yes, seeing how the locals observing the scene couldn't believe what they were witnessing and I'm sure their eyes bugged out of their heads, this is definitely "normal, every day behavior"!

If you have a fear of spiders or any other creepy-crawlies, do yourself a favor and Do Not watch the following video!

My theory: The spiders are exhibiting reactive behaviors to potentially great changes in their environment, as they can sense the slightest alterations, unlike people.

Cannibal Holocaust: Horrifying Details in Brazilian Cannibal Nightmare

Three suspected cannibals have been arrested by Brazilian police on suspicion of having murdered and eaten at least two women who they may have turned into pastries, which they in turn gave to unsuspecting neighbors to eat.

Jorge Beltrao Negromonte and Elizabeth Pires da Silveira, both 51, and Bruna da Silva of Guaranhuns, Brazil, have been arrested, charged with luring young women into their home with job offers to be a live-in nanny, killing them and then consuming their flesh in what they called a "purification ceremony". It is also alleged that they used the flesh of their victims to make stuffed-meat pastries known as empanadas, which they sold to neighbors, schools as well as to hospitals.

Police discovered two bodies in the garden of the house of the trio, which authorities believe may be the bodies of Alexandra Falcao, 20 and Gisele da Silva, 30, both of whom disappeared recently. The cannibalistic trio confessed that their intentions were to kill and consume at least three women a year to continue the "purification" process.

Police also discovered a gruesome "diary" of sorts in the house of horrors written by Negromante, which detailed the trio's heinously vile plans.

Real Life Brazilian Rapunzel to Sell Hair to Help Impoverished Family

"Rapunzel, Rapunzel...Let Down Your Hair!!!"

There's a real-life Rapunzel in Brazil, and she's about to cut off her luscious, long locks in order to help her family, who live in the infamous favelas of Rio de Janeiro.

12-year-old Natasha Moraes de Andrade, who was given the fairy-tale nickname years ago, has never once cut her hair in her lifetime. Amazingly, her hair now measures 5 feet, 2 inches in length, almost as long as she is! The upkeep on the flowing locks, however, has become a burden to Natasha and her family. The pre-teen estimates that she spends up to $600 a year on hair-care products, not to mention the hour and a half she must spend each day brushing it to keep the tangles away!

"I love my long hair and I'll be sad when it's gone," the teen told UK's The Daily Mail. "But it's a pain looking after it. I can't do a lot of things, like P.E. lessons at school." Natasha told the publication that she is hoping to sell her hair for at least $5000 and use the money to help her family spruce up their home and pay the bills.
