Expressing Herself: Madonna Does Mash-Up with Lady GaGa Tune

Superstar singer Madonna has never had any trouble expressing herself, and she's doing a bit of just that while preparing for the start of her new world tour.

In Tel Aviv, Israel, where her tour is set to open, the "Like a Virgin" chanteuse surprised onlookers with a mash-up of her 1980s feminist anthem "Express Yourself" with rival superstar Lady GaGa's hit "Born This Way".

While GaGa hasn't let it be secret that she's a huge fan of the former Material Girl, Madonna on the other hand hasn't exactly reciprocated the love, calling "Born This Way" reductive (definition: Tending to present a subject or problem in a simplified form, esp. one viewed as crude.) of her work. Ouch!

Madonna also penned an All About Eve inspired tune about a younger wannabe singer trying to ape the success of an older, more experienced star in the 2008 song "She's Not Me". Perhaps Madonna has decided to let bygones be bygones with the GaGa mash-up, as her latest album MDNA has been the biggest flop of her storied career.

Like a Flop: Madonna's New Album Tanks in Second Week

There will be a million bouquets of hydrangeas delivered to the erstwhile Queen of Pop as sales of her new album MDNA take the biggest second week plunge in musical chart history!

The new effort from the 53-year old wax figure chanteuse debuted in the Number One spot on the Billboard Hot 200 in album sales last week, beating out another 80s fave Lionel Richie's new album Tuskegee, which came in at Number Two with sales of almost 200,000 copies. However, Madonna's camp may have utilized sneaky practices in hitting the coveted Number One spot, as her record company included the album for free as part of a concert ticket bundle for her upcoming tour, which falsely inflated the actual sales figures.

MDNA looks to sell  an extremely paltry 49,000 copies in its second week, meaning it will be a record-breaking 88% drop in sales, the largest such drop for a Number One album in its second week in musical history! The first single off the album, "Gimme All Your Luvin'" featuring MIA and Nicki Minaj, was a huge flop on the charts as well, despite a heavily-promoted appearance by Madonna at this year's Super Bowl. Her latest single "Girl Gone Wild" doesn't appear to be drawing any interest from fans or haters either.

The superstar singer is set to begin her new world tour next month. Here's a bouquet of your beloved hydrangeas to get you motivated, Madge! Enjoy your Karma Bouquet!

Like a Prayer: Israeli Madonna Fans Beg PM "Don't Attack Iran Until After Concert"

"God? Are you there? It's me, Madonna..."

A new Facebook petition has gathered steam in Israel, with Madonna fans begging Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu not to attack a suspected Iranian nuclear facility until after The Queen of Pop's May 29th concert in Tel Aviv!

With tensions continuously escalating between Iran, the United States and Israel, Madonna fans could hardly be blamed for worrying that their pop idol would cancel her planned concert in Israel. Over the years, quite a number of world-famous acts, including The Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Depeche Mode and The Pixies, have cancelled concerts in the nation due to conflict, bombings and violence. Madge's hugely successful appearance during last week's Super Bowl broadcast only whetted the appetite of her fans all around the globe to see her in a thrilling live performance, nuclear war be damned!

Israelis feel a special connection to the former Material Girl, who converted to the Jewish-faith based Kabbalah religion from Catholicism in 2000.

She's XYZ Years Old: Madonna Slams Journalists For Printing Her Age

Madonna attending the 2010 American Music Awards

Madonna has fired back at journalists for printing her age in articles, claiming it is an attempt to make her seem irrelevant to a younger generation!

The 28-year-old Material Girl (+ 25) made the comments in an interview for the latest edition of
Harper's Bazaar magazine, on which she appears on the cover (wearing rubber bracelets and a lace, off-one-shoulder shirt, because it is, after all, still 1984). The self-confessed Queen of Pop told the magazine, "I find whenever someone writes anything about me, my age is right after my name. It's almost like they're saying, 'Here she is, but remember, she's this age, so she's not that relevant anymore." She also compared being famous with being in high school, where everything is always a popularity contest. That's like, you know, totally true!

In order to combat being thought of as out-of-date, Madonna has recently hit the recording studio again. She has reunited with musical uber-producer William Orbit, who produced her most critically acclaimed album of all time, 1998's Grammy-winning Ray of Light. She has also added director to her list of credits, directing the film W, loosely based on the life of the Duchess of Windsor, Wallis Simpson. Although the film has not been treated kindly by critics or movie-goers alike, Madonna has said she enjoys the entire process of directing and would like to try her hand at it again in the future.

I think they will still be including your age in any articles about those possible movies in the future, Madge...

Truth or Boos: Madonna Booed at London Premiere of New Film She Directed

International superstar Madonna is used to receiving all sorts of reactions from fans (or otherwise) and she should definitely be accustomed to negative reviews for her acting ability. (Shanghai Surprise, Who's That Girl? Body of Evidence ring any bells?) Still, she probably wasn't expecting to receive a loud round of boos at the London premiere of the film she has directed, W.E.. a semi-biography of the life of the former Duchess of Windsor, Wallis Simpson. The film has already been widely panned by critics from around the world who have seen the movie, so perhaps the former Material Girl should have anticipated the reaction she received at the London premiere. Looking stunning in a L'Wren Scott dress and flawless hair and makeup, the fifty-three-year-old star  didn't appear to be ruffled when her appearance on the Red Carpet brought out "Boos!" from the lively crowd. Despite the negative reviews and reactions, Madonna enjoys the directing process and plans to direct more projects in the future. The negative publicity comes hot on the heels of the news that Madonna's older brother Anthony Ciccone is homeless and living on the streets in Madonna's home state of Michigan! Maybe this is payback for her infamously temperamental reaction to a fan handing her a bouquet of hydrangeas during the Venice film festival!

Ten Pop Star Wax Figure Fails

Credit: Stan Godlewski / Paul Hawthorne / Bryan Bedder, Getty Images/Pop Crush
Our favorite musical web site Pop Crush! has a list of their worst Top Ten rock star wax figure fails.
I have to say I agree with some of their choices. Wax Simon Cowell looks more like Charlie Sheen's father, West Wing star Martin Sheen. Fergie looks more like a third rate Carmen Electra. J Lo looks like a drag queen impersonation of herself! And Madonna's looks more like the way she is today (you did see those un-retouched pictures from her W magazine shoot?) than her 1986 "Open Your Heart" self complete with that sexy leotard with the bustier and tassels! Please Don't Stop the Music: Rihanna Breaks Madonna Hit Record

International superstar Rihanna's latest song "We Found Love" featuring Calvin Harris has already cracked the Top 10, making it her 20th Billboard chart hit, surpassing Madonna as the fastest solo artist to have 20 Billboard Hot 100 top 10 singles since their debut on the chart.
"We Found Love" marks Rihanna's 20th top 10 hit since she first landed on the chart back on June 11, 2005, for her debut single '"Pon De Replay." Among all musical acts, Rihanna's run to 20 top 10s is the second-fastest, right behind The Beatles, who continue to beat out the competition after taking only two years and seven months to achieve the incredible milestone.

The Power of Air-Brushing: Embarrassing Photos of Madonna Leak

Embarrassing photographs of Madonna have surfaced, showing her in all of her un-air brushed non-glory.
The behind-the-scenes photos were taken in a hotel room during a December 2008 magazine shoot for W magazine in Brazil, while the then-50-year-old star was dating Brazilian boyfriend Jesus Luz, some twenty dog years her junior. She has since switched boy toys and is now dating 24-year-old dancer/model Brahim Zabat. Madonna is slated to be a half-time performer at next year's Super Bowl in Indianapolis.

You can see the vision of loveliness yourself over at DListed:
