The Debt Collector: Creditor Reveals Man's Affair to Wife For Not Paying Debt

"Yes, we are the root of all human evils..."
A Chicago man is suing a debt collection agency, claiming that a collector called his wife to notify her that her husband was having an extramarital affair after the man was unable to pony up the money he owed!

Larnel Pillow, 42, of Richton Park, Illinois, says the call from the debt collector to his wife turned his world "upside down", after he was unable to make payments on an automobile he had purchased after losing his job in the sour economy.  Upon hearing the news from the cold, callous, calculating collector, Pillow's wife proceeded to leave him, taking along the couple's children as well.

Pillow bought the car after securing a loan through the Prestige Financial Corp. headquartered in Salt Lake City, Utah, which "helps" (yeah, right!) individuals with bad credit to get a loan. Pillow became "friends" with a local agent for the company, making the mistake of sharing confidential information with the man, including the fact he was stepping out on his clueless wife! Pillow's mistress was even helping him make the car payments for a while, but when he lost his job as a crane operator, he could no longer afford to make his monthly installment.

After falling behind several months on his payments, Pillow claims his friendly neighborhood blood-thirsty loan shark threatened to expose his affair in an attempt to illegally extort the money from him. When he was still unable to come up with the funds, the agent made true on his threat.

Pillow eventually surrendered the automobile to his malicious and unscrupulous creditors and has now filed a suit in court for Affliction of  Emotional Distress and Extortion for an undisclosed sum of money.

Aerobic Barbarella: Jane Fonda Slips Back into Leotard & Tights at 73

"That's right... Grandma can still work a leotard!"

She's been an iconic sex symbol and political activist for almost fifty years and Oscar-winning actress Jane Fonda proves she still has the body that made her the Fitness Queen with an empire worth over $300 million!

At the age of 73, Fonda slipped back into a leotard and tights that earned the superstar a fortune back in the 1980s, when she released a highly-successful line of videotapes for her aerobics fitness regimen. Her series of videos sold over 18 million copies and is said to be the biggest selling home video of all time. The video age was just beginning, and it was a perfect time for the Barbarella star and daughter of Hollywood legend Henry Fonda to launch a new career as an aerobics instructor to millions of women around the world wanting to improve their looks and health.

The sexy grandmother appeared on NBC's Today program with Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb to promote her latest bestselling book, Prime Time: Love, Health, Sex, Fitness, Friendship, Spirit — Making the Most of all of Your Life. Fonda had initially retired from the fitness world in 1995, but made a return to the industry last year to release a fitness video for an older generation.

She has also made a return to the world of acting and will appear in two upcoming films, Peace, Love & Understanding, co-starring Elizabeth Olsen and Chace Crawford and Et si on vivait tous ensemble (And If We All Lived Together), her first French language feature film since the 1972 Jean-Luc Goddard drama Tout Va Bien.

Pink Friday: Nicki Minaj Barbie Doll Makes Debut

Rap superstar Nicki Minaj is set to be immortalized...as a Barbie Doll!

The chameleon-like "Superbass" singer, who has a penchant for wearing outrageous wigs and outfits (like her infamous pink chicken-wing KFC bling necklace), will see her unique likeness  auctioned off to raise money for charity.

The one-of-a-kind doll is styled from Nicki's appearance on her top selling Pink Friday CD, and features Ms. Minaj decked out in a cotton-candy pink wig, diamond bling necklace and a glittery couture gown, designed exclusively for her!

The doll will be auctioned off for CharityBuzz.com, with the proceeds going to Project Angel Food, a non-profit organization that provides meals for people suffering with HIV or AIDS. The doll will be on display at the Divine Design Gala at the Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles for five days starting Wednesday, December 7. Bids will be received through Dec. 19 with an opening bid starting at $1,000.

Ms. Minaj is thrilled at the honor, telling press at the Billboard's Women in Music in New York City on Friday, ""It's just a one of a kind, limited edition for charity, and so I never thought Mattel would even pay attention to me. For me this is a very major moment, because it just shows that you can come from nothing and still be a force in the main world, a business woman, and hopefully a mogul one day."

Break Out the Popcorn: Lindsay Lohan to Check into Celebrity Big Brother?

Lindsay Lohan preparing for her performance in A Midsummer Night's Dream..

Break out the meth popcorn folks, the always brain-dead outrageous Lindsay Lohan has been asked to appear on the UK freak show reality series Celebrity Big Brother!

Producers for the show have allegedly flown out to La-La Land to meet with LiLo, and rumor has it that they've offered her a pretty scrumptious deal with lots of extra zeros. As everyone knows, legitimate work is hard to come by for the cracked out former star, due to her unreliability and sketchy behavior. Surely, LiLo can manage being her normal, annoying self in front of cameras in an enclosed space with nothing being expected of her but to make a spectacle of herself, something she does, even in her sleep! (See photo above.) As fellow space cadet celeb Tara Reid was a contestant on the last edition of Celebrity Big Brother, Lohan's addition would help continue the show's drug-addled track record!

There is one possible snafu in the plan, however: Lohan is still on permanent probation and has to complete her community service sentence, where she's been doing cool things like helping out in a morgue (preparing for her own future on the slab, real-life performance). Execs for the show are hoping a judge will forgo the sentence for a while to allow LiLo to jet away from the United States and to fly off to Jolly Old England. Seeing that a judge allowed Ms. Freckles to go to Italy for a fashion shoot earlier this year, we're sure they'll bend the rules for a "star" once again. But hey, all you mother's in prison out there, don't expect any special treatment when you want to see your children at Christmas! Star perks come first! It's the LAW!!!

As I reported earlier, former Culture Club lead singer Boy George is also being considered for the series, so these two former inmates should have lots to chat about...

How Effin' Ridiculous! Facebook Bans Irish Town with "Offensive" Name

"It's still a long way to effin' Tipperary, Seamus..."

A woman's attempt to have her Irish hometown listed on her Facebook page has been denied, as the town's name is recognized as being "offensive"!

Ann Marie Kennedy was unable to list her hometown of Effin, Ireland, on her profile page because the website's profanity filters recognized the word as a slang substitute for a much filthier word. (Imagine little Peter Billingsley as Ralphie saying "Ooooh, Fuuuuudddgggeee!" in A Christmas Story).

Ms. Kennedy then attempted to start up a Facebook group page titled "Please Get My Hometown of Effin Recognized", but it was also rejected with an error message marked "offensive". Ms. Kennedy is rightfully proud of her beautiful, tiny Irish hamlet located in famed County Cork, saying, "It will recognize Limerick but I'm not from Limerick city, I'm from Effin. I'm a proud Effin woman. And I always will be an Effin woman."

Kennedy has launched a new campaign to have her hometown added. A spokesperson from the social media site confirms the oversight is being investigated, so hopefully there will be an effin' solution to the effin' problem, effin' soon...

Icehole Brew: Man Survives for 3 Days in Alaskan Wild on Frozen Beer

"IceHole Beer: The Number One Choice of Brews in Frostbite Falls!"

A man braved the cold and wild frontier of Alaska, armed with little more than a case of beer!

Clifton Vial knew that he was in for a bit of trouble when his Toyota Tacoma became stuck in a massive snow drift some 40 miles outside of Nome, Alaska. The 52-year-old knew that he wasn't well-prepared to spend the night in the staggering cold, as he was only dressed in a thin jacket, jeans and sneakers, so there was no way he would be able to dig the vehicle out of the snow drift without risking frostbite to his tootsies and other extremities. He had his cell phone with him, but being out in the middle of nowhere, he couldn't receive any signal to call out for help.

Vial did have a fleece sleeping bag to snuggle into for some warmth, and he managed to stuff rags and tissue paper in this clothes and shoes as insulation against the bone-jarring temperatures, which dipped as low as minus 17! He would also turn on the engine and use the heater at intervals, being careful not to use up all the fuel or allow too much carbon monoxide inside the truck's cab.

He didn't have any food with him, but Clifton improvised when he realized that he had three cans of beer, that were now frozen solid. He cut off the lids with a hunting knife and managed to chow down on the frozen alcoholic concoction, giving him such much needed liquids and nourishment. Vial's wife and daughter were out of town, so he knew that no one was missing him, until he didn't show up for work. His co-workers contacted authorities after he failed to show up for a second shift.

Rescuers managed to find him using airplanes and ground search crews. He had spent a total of three days out in the cold, but showed no signs of frostbite or dehydration. He plans to return to work immediately, but promises to be better prepared for life in Alaska in the future!

Honey, I Shrunk My Enemies: Michael Crichton's Posthumous Novel Doesn't Disappoint

Bestselling author Michael Crichton was always on the cutting edge of science. From his earlier works The Andromeda Strain and the cyborg thriller Westworld to his later blockbuster masterpiece Jurassic Park, Crichton always made his readers extremely leery of the advancement of technology in a world unready for the oft-times horrific implications.

After Crichton's death in 2008, the prolific author left behind an unfinished manuscript as well as outlines and plans for other stories he planned on completing. One book, the rather unfortunate novella Pirate Latitudes, was published posthumously in 2010. Now,  Harper Publishing has released the first full-length Crichton novel since his passing, a superb what-if technological thriller titled Micro, which was completed by accomplished non-fiction and science fiction author Richard Preston, who wrote the spellbinding true story about the killer Ebola Virus The Hot Zone.

In Micro, Crichton and Preston spin an at-first familiar tale, the long-sought after ability to shrink matter into a miniature form, and put a frighteningly different new face upon it. From timeless tales such as The Fantastic Voyage and The Incredible Shrinking Man to family friendly Honey, I Shrunk the Kids, human kind's obsession with miniaturizing objects has long been well-established. The novel pits a group of people struggling to survive after being turned into tiny versions of themselves, smaller than an insect, by the requisite scientific bad guy looking to cash in on the technology while having his enemies eaten by bugs. Crichton and Preston can sometimes get mired down in the...minutia of the situation, but they manage to weave crisis after crisis from some not-so-obvious places.

It's familiar territory for Crichton, of course, who always expertly managed claustrophobic situations (Prey, The Andromeda Strain) and knew how to keep the tension brewing. Preston is the perfect selection to help complete the novel, adding his own touches seamlessly to the fast-paced storyline.

After completing Micro, it made me sad to realize Crichton was no longer with us. Here's hoping there are more unfinished stories to tell and that Richard Preston helps bring them to fruition.

Here's Comes Rent-A-Santa: New Web Site Allows Parents to Rent Christmas Presents for Kids

"Ho Ho Ho! I'll be back in four weeks to reclaim your presents, kiddos!"

Parents not wanting to disappoint their children on Christmas morning who also happen to hope that their kids have a short memory span have a new option this holiday season...they can now rent toys to put under the tree on Christmas morning!

New website Toygaroo.com allows parents to select from a wide range of toys and other gifts for their children for a fraction of the cost of purchasing it yourself. Only catch is... the toys must go back up the chimney and into Santa's knapsack for a sleigh ride back to the North Pole after a month of happy and spirited usage by your wonderful kid, who behaved so well all year long! Actually, you do have the option of purchasing the item at a discounted price should your child become so attached to their adorable Elmo doll that they couldn't possibly sleep without it.

Worried about sanitation with conceivably hundreds of other snotty kids drizzling all over the toys? No worries, say the web site founders Paul and Pam Reinsmith of Boston, MA, as all toys and merchandise are completely sanitized before shipping out to your home.  The company also offers people the opportunity to recycle older toys that their children no longer play with, saving toys from ending up in the land fill.

Life in the Internet Age keeps getting better and better!

The Satanic Verses Redux: Salman Rushdie Gets Social Media Smack Down

"With that $10 million price still on my head, I have to remember to stop doing controversial things..."

It seems bestselling author Salman Rushdie courts controversy and trouble, wherever he goes!

The 64-year-old author of The Satanic Verses has become embroiled in a social media scandal featuring much-younger reality star and model Devorah Rose. The unlikely pair struck up a friendship on Facebook, with Rushdie waxing romantic over Rose's beautiful attributes, even going so far as to plan a "hook up" while the writer was in New York City, where Devorah resides.

Apparently, Rushdie developed cold feet over maintaining a relationship with the twenty-something model, sending her a "Dear John" letter via Facebook. When journalists got wind of the aborted May-December romance between the two, Rushdie proceeded to deny any claims of a relationship with Rose, telling online media site Page Six that he was "mortified" to be connected with her in any way!

Needless to say, this didn't sit very well with Devorah, who immediately released screencaps of the online conversations she had with Rushdie to various gossip sites, where Rushdie spouted flowery prose festooned with smiley faces! "Never let someone paint you in a negative light," Devorah posted on her Twitter feed regarding the social media smack down. "Not me not today."

Rushdie famously went into hiding during the late-1980s and early-90s after publishing his masterpiece The Satanic Verses when the Supreme Leader of Iran the Ayatollah Khomeini  placed a multimillion dollar price tag on his head, calling for his assassination for the book's irreverent depiction of the Prophet Muhammad.

Get On Your Feet: Gloria Estefan to Appear on Glee

Latin superstar singer Gloria Estefan is set to join the cast of the Fox phenomenon Glee, playing the mother of recently out McKinley High student Santana Lopez, played by actress Naya Rivera!

Word has it that the "Coming Out of the Dark" singer's character on the hit show will be that of an accepting, loving mom, after Santana's grandmother was revealed to be homophobic on the "I Kissed a Girl" episode of the series earlier this season. Estefan hinted at her upcoming appearance this week on her twitter feed, posting "Hey M’Tweets! Did anyone see Glee last night? Santana could really use a sympathetic mommy right about now, don’t you think?? Lol!”

Gloria's appearance won't be the only upcoming surprise for Gleeks: fellow Latin superstar Ricky Martin is also slated to appear on the critically and commercially acclaimed series, as the school's super-sexy new Spanish teacher.

Hit Me Baby 30 Times: Pop Princess Britney Spears Turns Thirty

"Hit Me Baby, Thirty Times...HARD!"

Hard to believe, but Pop Princess Britney Spears hits the Big 3-0 today.

It's been a roller-coaster ride for the former Mouseketeer, who shot to fame as a perky Lolita-esque teenager in the late-1990s. She's had love affairs with superstar hunks (Justin Timberlake), married a wannabe rap star who turned into a chunk (Kevin Federline), had a couple of kids, got a D-I-V-O-R-C-E and experienced a requisite mental breakdown, all played out in the headlines. Even her younger sister Jamie Lynn got in on the act, getting pregnant at the ripe old age of sixteen, cementing the Spears clan's L'il Abner schtick.

She once shaved her head American X style and took a golf club to a car belonging to a paparazzo! Her perfumes (Trailer Trash, Padded Cell Curious, Fantasy) have earned her mega-millions. She incited controversy by driving around with her sons Sean Preston and Jayden James in her lap and not in a car seat. She was photographed walking around barefoot on the dirty streets of her hometown in Louisiana for The People of Wal-Mart (She should be their official spokesperson). She made quite a statement appearing in a sexy outfit with an albino python draped around her at the MTV Music Awards, only to completely humiliate herself years later at the same awards ceremony, doing a shoddy lip synch performance, dancing like a drunk panda bear and looking paunchy instead of sexy.

Yes, Britney's sure had a lot of living in those thirty short years. So, Happy Birthday, Britney. Keep on entertaining us with your wacky antics.

Uptown Girl: Christie Brinkley Handed Tax Bill for $500K

"This might be 1983 me, but I'm just as beautiful today!"

She was the inspiration behind ex-husband Billy Joel's Number One hit "Uptown Girl" and apparently her Uptown ways have landed Christie Brinkley in hot water...with the IRS!

Seems the Tax Man Cometh, and he wants a piece of Brinkley's estimated $80 million fortune
after a bill was filed by the IRS in Suffolk County, New York on November 21. The IRS is asking for a payment from the former super-model for $531,720 in back taxes. Brinkley maintains several real estate holdings in the exclusive enclave of the Hamptons on New York's Long Island, a playground for the wealthy and famous.

She continues to model and act at a well-preserved 56-years-of-age. Brinkley rose to fame in the early-1980s as one of the world's most popular supermodels, posing for countless magazine covers and gracing the illustrious Swimsuit Edition cover of Sports Illustrated magazine more times than any other model. For the past year, she has been starring as Roxie in both the Broadway and London stage productions of Chicago. The still-beautiful star plans on debuting her own exclusive skincare line next year with L'Oreal, so we're sure she won't miss that $500K...

Nest of Vipers: Farmers Dump Bag of Cobras to Protest Bribery Scheme

"Bring me along to any protest to make a dramatic statement! My rates are reasonable..."

A group of farmers in India are as mad as hell over alleged government corruption and not going to take it anymore by showing up at an office and dumping a bag full of snakes on the floor, including deadly Indian cobras!

Apparently, the men were fed up over corrupt tax officials in Basti, India, asking repeatedly for bribes, so they decided to gather up as many slithering serpents that they could find, stuff them in a bag and dump them on the floor of the local tax office in a very dramatic protest statement. Chaos quickly ensued, as people began hopping up on tables and running for their lives as the snakes made a quick break for freedom.

"There was total chaos. Hundreds of people gathered outside the room, some of them with sticks in their hands, shouting that the snakes should be killed," says Uttar Pradesh state official Ramsukh Sharma. Fortunately, no one was bitten or injured during the chaos, and all the snakes were eventually rounded up safely by animal control experts.

Police are now in search of the two men, identified to be local farmers Hukkul Khan and Ramkul Ram. Although Khan is known to be a snake-charmer, his social skills with people... not-so-great...

Gone with the Wind: The Secret Love Child of Clark Gable & Loretta Young Dies at Age 76

The daughter of two Hollywood legends passed away last week at her home in Pennsylvania. Judy Lewis was the secret love child of Gone with the Wind actor Clark Gable and actress Loretta Young, the product of a clandestine love affair on the set of the 1935 film The Call of the Wild. At the time, the 22-year-old Young hid her pregnancy and placed her daughter in an orphanage, only to reclaim the girl when she was nineteen-months old, claiming she had adopted the child. Gable was married at the time to another woman. Young was terrified that her secret would be revealed and destroy her career, so she did everything in her power to keep her secret well-hidden from the world, and most importantly from her very own daughter!

In her 1995 memoir Uncommon Knowledge, Judy writes that her mother went to great lengths to protect her secret, even going so far as to have plastic surgery on her daughter's ears...because they were large and stuck out just like Gable's! Lewis saw her father in person only once, when she was fifteen. Speaking of the brief encounter, she says, "As he left, he gave me a kiss on my forehead, but I didn't know he was my father. I cry when I watch his films. Why didn't he ride up on a white horse and rescue me?"

Although she did not know who her father was when she was young, Lewis claims that it was an open secret throughout Hollywood, and that even her childhood friends were aware, but had been instructed not to tell her the truth.

Clark Gable died in 1960 at the age of 59. Loretta Young, one of the great beauties of the silver screen during the 1930s and 40s,  passed away in 2000.

Urban Jungle: Plans to Make the Eiffel Tower "Green" Upset Parisians

"Oh La La...As beautiful as I am, I could use a little tinkering..."

Plans to make one of the world's most iconic landmarks "ecologically correct" has caused outrage throughout France.

The €76 million plan involves covering Paris' famed Eiffel Tower with over 600,000 plants and flowers, completely transforming the steel structure into an "urban jungle". The controversial plan has sparked debate among Parisians who view the tower as not only an important cultural symbol for their beautiful city, but for the entire nation of France as well.

Ginger, an engineering company which specializes in ecological projects, will work with the building firm Vinci and architect Claude Bucher on the plan, which is due to be completed within the next few years. The company will see the 1,063ft tower turn into a flagship of eco-tourism, introducing thousands of baskets of plants, as well as a state-of-the-art irrigation system made up of over twelve tons of rubber tubing. The company estimates that the structure will give off 84.2 tons of CO2 and absorb 87.8 tons, making it the world's first ‘carbon positive’ landmark. The expensive plan has also been criticized by citizens, many pointing out the needless expenditure at a time when Europe is battling with a crippling debt crisis.

The tower originally sparked controversy when it was first constructed in 1889 by famed architect Gustave Eiffel, who also designed New York's equally iconic Statue of Liberty. The tower was built for Paris' World Fair, and was not popular at the time of construction, inciting critics to call it a "hideous blight upon the world's most beautiful city".
