Sad news coming from the world of reality television: A producer for the hit CBS reality series The Amazing Race have been found dead while scouting locations in Africa. Sources say that show facilitator Jeff Rice was poisoned while traveling in Uganda, apparently in an extortion attempt by local thugs.
Details are still sketchy, but both Rice and another producer were forced to take poison after refusing demands from their kidnappers. Rice died in the poisoning, while the other producer has survived. Rice was not currently working on The Amazing Race while in Africa but had worked on Season 20 of the show, which premiered on CBS on Sunday night. Rice's job as a facilitator had him traveling all around the world, scouting locations for the Emmy-winning hit series, hosted by Phil Keoghan.
