Still Partying All the Time: Eddie Murphy Death Rumors Untrue

"I'm Eddie Murphy, Dammit! And I'm still f@#*!^ alive!"

Celebrity death rumors are currently one the most popular memes on the Internet, and The Nutty Professor actor Eddie Murphy is the latest victim of the macabre hoax.

The rumor started when "faux news" site Global Associated News printed a news story that Murphy, 50, was killed during a vacation in Switzerland, where he was snowboarding in the beautiful Swiss Alps. The rumor was quickly picked up by Mediacatcher.com, and immediately went viral, being repeated through countless Facebook and Twitter updates worldwide.

Murphy's representative quickly assured a mourning public that their beloved comedian was not toe-tagged on a cold, harsh slab in a Swiss morgue: "Trust me, Eddie is very much alive and well and definitely not in Switzerland snowboarding."

Murphy's "faux death" comes after a spate of similar celebrity death hoaxes in the past few months, which have included the likes of Jon Bon Jovi, Cher, Luke Perry and country star Reba McEntire.
