Death of a Visionary: Steve Jobs Dies at 56

Breaking news just off the wire: Apple co-founder Steve Jobs has lost his battle with cancer at the age of fifty-six.

The man responsible for the iPad and for turning Apple into one of the world's biggest and most important corporations lost his lengthy and very public battle with a rare form of pancreatic cancer today. The announcement of Job's passing came in an official announcement from Apple late this afternoon. Job's stepped-down from his position as CEO of the corporation in August, citing his deteriorating health, as he handed over his former duties to current CEO Tim Cook. He is survived by his wife Laurene and four children.
