When I was a kid, there was nothing better than going trick or treating on Halloween! I didn't care about dressing up in some stupid costume (you can't breathe through those damn masks anyway!), my main objective was to collect more candy than Willy Wonka.
So I can definitely feel the pain of a kid who has been told that their parents ate ALL of their hard-earned Halloween stash! Which is just what talk show host Jimmy Kimmel asked parents to pretend they did...and to film the reactions of their children! Needless to say, none of the kids were too happy when they discovered that every last Snicker bar and piece of candy corn had been gobbled up by their gluttonous and inconsiderate parents. In fact, most of them...cry!!! Some lash out ("You're ugly!" one little girl yells at her father in retaliation.). Some immediately start to weep. And one little cutie named CJ reprimands Mommie Dearest by saying "Are you serious?" with all the intensity and bravado of a young Robert De Niro. (This cutie and his equally adorable baby brother Jake steal the show at the end of the video, especially when the subject of peanut butter cups is brought up!)
Okay, so if the parents really did eat all of their candy, maybe it would save them many long hours in a dentist's chair in the not-too-distant future. But, I'm glad it was all just for fun and the kids did get to dig into the rest of their sweet treats. Watch the adorable video below:
